A journey at the Stirling Castle

On the 24th of March my mates and I went to Stirling to see the Castle where the Stuart kings had lived for generations.
We visited the garden where they used to relax, to talk to each other or just to play sports  like tennis or football.

Outside the last defensive layer the Robert the Bruce and William Wallace statues stand in memory of their strenght and bravery during the battles against the English.
The Castle palaces are of different ages and architectural styles because each king wanted to leave his own legacy and imprinting.
The rooms and the halls are full of paintings, drawings and emblems which represent a unicorn and a lion, the Scottish and English symbols together to celebrate the union of this two struggling countries.
A curiosity: the Scottish symbol is the unicorn because it is the only creature that can defeat the English lion, according to the legend.

  1. I think unicorn is a marvellous animal to have as symbol! ...Scottish still believe in fairytails!
