On a trip to Stirling, a small town near Glasgow but with an astounding castle.

The Stirling Castle was the home of some important kings, like James III, IV and V. James IV in particular, who was a passionate supporter of arts and culture, surrounded himself with poets, musicians, writers and philosophers. He was influenced by Classical ideas and the culture of the European Renaissance. Here at Stirling he commisioned building works on a grand scale. His son James V continued the building programme and embellished the palace with beautiful fabrics, rich tapestries and remarkable sculptures for the exterior.
